Before moving to New York City in 2011, Jim spent 5 years working as a professional wedding and event DJ in his hometown of Boston. As a child, he loved bands like Duran Duran, U2 and The Cure, but after a trip to band camp as a teen, Jim realized that he was more than just a fan, and music would be a huge part of his life from then on. As an event DJ, Jim loves to spin jazz vocals, soul and Motown, 80s pop, 90s electronica, current Top 40 and beyond, but his ultimate goal is to accommodate your requests, and ultimately complement the event with music that fits your personality or a particular theme.
Jim has literally spent tens of thousands of hours in record stores, and his music library includes all styles and eras of music. Not only is he sure to have what you are looking for, but he is eager to discuss it with you, to make your special day the best it can be. His confident yet non-cheesy style on the microphone ensures that your guests and photographer don’t miss important milestone moments. Jim‘s wedding experience, easygoing nature, and extensive music knowledge make him perfect for any occasion.
He has been hosting a weekly free-form show on East Village Radio since 2024.
