Incredible music that kept everyone dancing all night long!

“We hired DJ Jim Siegel from Stylus DJ after listening to his sample playlists on their website, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled. Jim was flexible with us and very helpful when we needed to add a second set of speakers for the ceremony after our initial booking. From the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception, Jim kept our guests entertained and having a great time. Prior to the wedding day we gave him a handful of must-play and do-not-play songs as well as the general vibe of what we wanted for the wedding, and he took it from there. All night people were asking if we made the wedding playlist because it was so good, and we were thrilled to be able to say that we could completely trust Jim’s expert skill. People who said they hadn’t been on a wedding dance floor in a decade were moving and grooving like it was something they did all the time. We highly recommend Jim’s talents as a DJ and would hire him again in an instant!” -Bailey & Harry -Wedding Wire & The Knot

HIRE JIM IMMEDIATELY

“Hire Jim. It will be the best thing you ever did. We *discovered* Jim at our friends’ wedding and when it was our turn to tie the knot there was no question about which DJ to hire. Jim is brilliant. He fulfilled all of our requests, ironed out our questions, read the crowd brilliantly, and led us in a dance party that was so intense the concerns that the dance floor was going to collapse from too much jumping/dancing were very real. Our number one goal for our reception was to have a huge dance party and Jim not only made this happen, he brought it to a new level. THANK YOU, JIM!!!!” -Liza & David -Wedding Wire & The Knot

Tainted Love 80s Dance Party w/DJ Jim Siegel – 10/27/2017

20171027-TL

Soft Cell’s pioneering 1981 cover of the Northern Soul classic, “Tainted Love,” is the inspiration for this awesome 80s dance party. Building on a solid foundation of New Wave, we’ll dig deeper into the catalog of massive hits and overlooked misses from the late 70s through the early 90s – pivotal years in musical history that blurred the lines between Analog and Digital, Disco and Synthpop, Funk and Hip-Hop. A time when Alternative was called Post-Punk, Indie actually meant independent, and Throbbing Gristle’s “Hot on the Heels of Love” surely could have been alongside Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” on the charts…with today’s perspective. Other passions include CBGB-era New York, Batcave-era London – Punk Rock, Glam Rock, Kraut Rock, Girl Rock, Dad Rock, Rockabilly, Ska, Machine Soul, Blue-Eyed Soul, Darkwave, Coldwave – plus some guilty pleasures in the (strictly) Old-School Rap department.

I recommend Jim unreservedly

“I worked with a personal connection at Stylus, Jim Siegel, for my wedding. Jim, formerly of Rough Trade records and Other Music, has a broad knowledge of popular music and a firm handle on the good stuff. He’s highly professional, perfectly attentive, and imminently professional, yet relaxed. He played a balanced mix of our musical favourites/tastes accompanied by corresponding selections from his library, which, while a winning formula, was not at all formulaic. Our friends and family were up and dancing for a long time, and they really did rave about the music ex post facto. Additionally, he’s a good MC, and, AND, he has all of his own equipment, quality stuff, so he’s prepared to do business even in locations totally bereft of audio equipment. I recommend Jim unreservedly, for weddings or, indeed, any other social engagement at which music will be central. He’s a good value for money. Cheers, JN.” -Justin –Wedding Wire

Jim’s my man!

“When we contacted Jane about DJing our wedding she was already booked that day, but set us up with her partner Jim, who was fantastic! After our initial email contact we set up a phone date to see if we were on the same page (which we were!). Jim has experience with both weddings and indie radio DJing, which was a perfect fit for us- we wanted a mix of popular party music (especially from the 60s and 90s) and the more indie type of music we listen to. Closer to the wedding he gave us some good suggestions for certain points of the night that should have a specific song picked out (cake cutting, etc). During the evening itself a lot of our guests praised the music selection, and I especially loved when Jim played a relevant song after my Best Man made a reference to a favorite band of ours in his speech. He was also easy to get in touch with via email in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Jim is very professional while also being laid back and easy to talk with, and I couldn’t have been happier with his work that evening. If I ever find myself needing an event DJ again, Jim’s my man!” -Sonia & Kevin –Wedding Wire

Jim Siegel is the best!

“Excellent DJ. Beyond professional and most importantly attentive to my husband and my requests for a playlist. Set the perfect mood for cocktail hour and then amped it up post dinner when it was time to dance. Even got my mother-in-law on the dance floor and she is quite reserved. Have recommended to multiple friends. Music is very important to my husband and me, he’s a musician and an engineer and I’ve spent a lot of time on the road touring. Stylus managed to hit all the obscure marks that made our friends go wild while still keeping the older less adventurous invitees moving and grooving all night long, we even paid for an extra hour at our venue we were having such a blast! Jim Siegel is the best!” -Beverly & Sean -Wedding Wire

We could not have been more pleased with Jim Siegel

“We could not have been more pleased with Jim Siegel and the job he did as our wedding DJ. He met with us several times before the date to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted and he absolutely nailed it. He also executed pre-ceremony music flawlessly, which included several different pieces of music cued up at exactly the right times. It was perfect. We still have people telling us that our wedding DJ was the best they have ever experienced — and we agree! Plus Jim Siegel is an all around great guy and a breeze to work with. Can’t recommend him and Stylus Entertainment enough.” –Thomas, Wedding Wire

Jim was simply the best

5_stars_ww
“My husband and I love, love, love music and so does Jim Siegel. He was simply the best DJ ever for our wedding. He listened to what we wanted and executed our vision perfectly. He knows music so well that he was able to compliment our selections with great picks. The idea of a wedding DJ scared me as there are so many bad ones out there. But Jim was simply the best – professional, on time, thoughtful and fun. I would have him DJ at all my parties if I could!” –Rosie, Wedding Wire

“My husband and I hired Jane Elizabeth from Stylus DJ Entertainment to DJ our Halloween wedding this year. We have very specific and “out there” tastes in music, so when Jane said she would be willing to work with us on a Heavy Metal Cocktail Hour, and incorporate songs from Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Apocalyptica into our ceremony, we knew this was going to work. Jane and her DJ partner Jim were great at keeping the flow of everything going. We had several meetings with Jane, both in person and on the phone in order to discuss songs that we wanted for the wedding. Jane was great at helping us edit, but also respected our love of heavy music, and 80’s and 90’s music, and kept true to a classic, spooky Halloween theme. She made these two great big Jack Skellington structures to hide the speakers, which was wonderful! The uplighting also added a great ambiance to the party. I’d recommend Jane to anyone who doesn’t want a cheesy DJ, who will listen to your needs, and who will help you edit down massive lists to something that will work for your wedding. Thank you Jane for helping make the best night of my life even more amazing! :)” -Sarita & Eric
