Soft Cell’s pioneering 1981 cover of the Northern Soul classic, “Tainted Love,” is the inspiration for this awesome 80s dance party. Building on a solid foundation of New Wave, we’ll dig deeper into the catalog of massive hits and overlooked misses from the late 70s through the early 90s – pivotal years in musical history that blurred the lines between Analog and Digital, Disco and Synthpop, Funk and Hip-Hop. A time when Alternative was called Post-Punk, Indie actually meant independent, and Throbbing Gristle’s “Hot on the Heels of Love” surely could have been alongside Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” on the charts…with today’s perspective. Other passions include CBGB-era New York, Batcave-era London – Punk Rock, Glam Rock, Kraut Rock, Girl Rock, Dad Rock, Rockabilly, Ska, Machine Soul, Blue-Eyed Soul, Darkwave, Coldwave – plus some guilty pleasures in the (strictly) Old-School Rap department.

“I worked with a personal connection at Stylus, Jim Siegel, for my wedding. Jim, formerly of Rough Trade records and Other Music, has a broad knowledge of popular music and a firm handle on the good stuff. He’s highly professional, perfectly attentive, and imminently professional, yet relaxed. He played a balanced mix of our musical favourites/tastes accompanied by corresponding selections from his library, which, while a winning formula, was not at all formulaic. Our friends and family were up and dancing for a long time, and they really did rave about the music ex post facto. Additionally, he’s a good MC, and, AND, he has all of his own equipment, quality stuff, so he’s prepared to do business even in locations totally bereft of audio equipment. I recommend Jim unreservedly, for weddings or, indeed, any other social engagement at which music will be central. He’s a good value for money. Cheers, JN.” -Justin –Wedding Wire
“Jim was a true professional and was a pleasure to work with. He took careful consideration of the music that we wanted to hear at our wedding, and made sure that everything was tailored specifically for us on our big day. I give him and Stylus DJ Entertainment my highest possible recommendation.” -Max –Wedding Wire
“We could not have been more pleased with Jim Siegel and the job he did as our wedding DJ. He met with us several times before the date to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted and he absolutely nailed it. He also executed pre-ceremony music flawlessly, which included several different pieces of music cued up at exactly the right times. It was perfect. We still have people telling us that our wedding DJ was the best they have ever experienced — and we agree! Plus Jim Siegel is an all around great guy and a breeze to work with. Can’t recommend him and Stylus Entertainment enough.” –Thomas, Wedding Wire
